Rev. Brown is a graduate of Montclair State University, the Baptist Theological Seminary of Zimbabwe, and she has earned her Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.) from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. She is also a proud alumna of the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention Pastor’s Excellence Program. Her commitment to global ministry has taken her across nations, where she boldly proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In addition to her pastoral leadership, Reverend Brown is a highly respected community leader with a long-standing commitment to social justice, civic engagement, and public service. As a former Councilwoman-at-large in the City of Plainfield, she worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between government and community, advocate for underserved populations, and support initiatives that fostered youth empowerment, public safety, and economic development.
Her groundbreaking achievements include becoming the first woman elected Moderator in the 107-year history of the Middlesex Central Baptist Association, becoming the first woman Moderator under the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., and the first African-American woman appointed as a New Jersey State Police Chaplain—positions that reflect her trailblazing spirit and unwavering integrity.
Rev. Brown has also collaborated with local organizations, schools, and faith-based initiatives to address critical issues such as homelessness, mental health, domestic violence, and reentry support for formerly incarcerated individuals. Her ministry extends beyond the pulpit and into the streets—where she actively meets the needs of the people with compassion and bold advocacy.
Grounded in the words of John 9:4, “I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work,” Reverend Tracey L. Brown continues to serve as a beacon of light and leadership—spiritually, civically, and globally.
