Reverend Tracey L. Brown felt her divine calling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the young age of thirteen, delivering her initial sermon at the Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.
Ordained in 1991, she began her ministry as an Associate Minister at Community Baptist Church in North Plainfield, New Jersey, and later at the Rose of Sharon Community Church in Plainfield, New Jersey. On April 17, 1999, she was installed as the Senior Pastor and Founder of Ruth Fellowship Ministries by her Pastor, Bishop M. Laverne Ball. |

Reverend Brown graduated from Montclair State University. In October 2008, she was honored with induction into the Montclair State University Athletic Hall of Fame for her achievements in Women’s Basketball. She also holds a Continuing Education certificate from the Baptist Theological Seminary and earned her Master of Arts in Theological Studies from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention Pastor’s Excellence Program and has traveled to Guyana, South Africa, Jamaica, Turkey, Sweden, and Mexico, proclaiming the word of God.
As a devoted kingdom builder, Reverend Brown has previously served as a Councilwoman in the City of Plainfield, was a member of the Plainfield Board of Education, and has acted as Commissioner of the Plainfield Municipal Utilities Authority.
As a trailblazer, Pastor Brown has shattered barriers and opened doors for many women in ministry. She made history as the first woman to serve as Moderator of the Middlesex Central Baptist Association in its 107-year history. Furthermore, she became the first African-American woman to serve as a New Jersey State Police Chaplain.
Pastor Brown is a mentor to numerous women and men in ministry, a faithful undershepherd to her congregation and community, and she continues to dedicate her life to serving God’s people.
