Mental Health Awareness Challenge

Four ways to TURN AWARENESS INTO ACTION ​
  • A 31-Day Mental Health Challenge. Below is a list of daily activities designed to improve mental health, promote personal growth, and enhance emotional resilience. Feel free to adapt the activities to suit your preferences and needs.
  • Join us Tues, May 6th for FIRE Institute - Movies That Preach Series. We will be discussing the move, Inside Out 2, and our topic is "Managing Our Emotions." Join via Zoom www.bit.ly/FIRE2020.
  • Join us from May 7th-20th as we explore two bible reading plans that examine biblical figures who dealt with mental health challenges. Read on your own and post your thoughts.
  • On 4th Sunday, May 25th, wear green to our Worship Service at 9:30am in observance of Mental Health Awareness!

​31-Day Mental Health Challenge
Day 1: Choose a scripture to meditate on for 10 minutes.

Day 2: Write a list of five things you're grateful for.
Day 3: Engage in a physical activity you enjoy.
Day 4: Connect with a friend or family member.
Day 5: Declutter a small area of your living space.
Day 6: Listen to your favorite worship music or a motivational podcast.
Day 7: Perform a random act of kindness.
Day 8: Practice deep breathing exercises for stress relief.
Day 9: Set a specific, achievable goal for the month.
Day 10: Spend 15 minutes outdoors, enjoying nature.
Day 11: Write down three positive affirmations and repeat them throughout the day.
Day 12: Prepare and enjoy a healthy meal.
Day 13: Reflect on personal strength and how you can use it to overcome a challenge.
Day 14: Create an area in your house dedicated to prayer.
Day 15: Establish a bedtime routine for better sleep.
Day 16: Explore a new hobby or interest.
Day 17: Identify a personal value and practice living in alignment with it.
Day 18: Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with kindness and understanding.
Day 19: Unplug from digital devices for a designated period.
Day 20: Engage in creative activities like drawing, writing, or playing an instrument.
Day 21: Learn a new relaxation technique, such as progressive muscle relaxation or guided imagery.
Day 22: Express your feelings and thoughts through journaling.
Day 23: Establish a morning praise routine that sets a positive tone for the day.
Day 24: Reflect on a recent accomplishment and the steps you took to achieve it.
Day 25: Watch an inspiring TED Talk or read an uplifting article.
Day 26: Challenge a negative thought and replace it with a positive one.
Day 27: Practice assertive communication in a difficult conversation.
Day 28: Take a day for self-care and engage in activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul.
Day 29: Reflect on your progress and growth throughout the challenge.
Day 30: Set new goals for the upcoming month.
Day 31: Celebrate your achievements and commit to maintaining your newfound habits.
